Captain Bob Cook is the owner / operator of Fat Tuna Guides LLC. He holds a USCG 100 ton Master Captain’s License. Fat Tuna is a professional guide company that Bob co – founded with friend, and fellow F.T.G.S captain Matt Kelleher.
Bob is a native of Beverly, Massachusetts, and grew up fishing the waters around Cape Ann and New England. Bob began his love of all things fishing at the age of twelve when he started mating on numerous inshore and offshore commercial fishing boats. As a professional guide for five years, Bob is a member of numerous pro staffs including Shimano, and Costa Del Mar sunglasses. Bob has been involved in many types of media as of late, appearing on national television shows “Quest For The One” and “Monster Fish”. Bob is also featured locally on the cover of “On The Water” magazine February 2011.
Captain Jeff Connon has worked as a captain and as a mate for Fat Tuna Guide Service since it’s inception. He holds a USCG 50GT Master Captain’s License.
At an early age, Jeff spent his summers living on Cape Cod and fished the waters from the Cape to Nantucket for all species of fish from blues and striped bass to blue fin tuna. As an avid fisherman, Jeff challenged himself to find new opportunities and worked as a commercial cod gill netter for several years out of Chatham, MA.
After years of honing his skills, Jeff is pleased to be able to provide his clients with the techniques and professionalism that he has learned over the years. This translates into putting people on fish.
A professional guide, Matt currently holds his United States Coast Guard 50GT Masters License and is CPR/First Aid Certified.
Captain Matt Kelleher Founded Fat Tuna Guide Service with lifelong friend captain Bob Cook. Fishing has always played an important role throughout his life. An avid Fly Fisherman starting in his childhood, Matt’s skills were developed by finessing brook trout in the beautiful streams near Jackman, Maine. Over the past decade you may have seen Matt catching Bluefish, Striped Bass or Blue fin Tuna with Fly Rods and Lite-tackle setups all along the North Shore of Boston.
